Aim & Scope

The aim of the International Journal of Pulmonology and Disorders is to provide a comprehensive platform for the dissemination of original research, reviews, case reports, and clinical studies related to all aspects of pulmonary diseases and disorders. The scope of the journal encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Respiratory Infections: Studies investigating the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of respiratory infections, including pneumonia, tuberculosis, viral respiratory illnesses, and opportunistic infections in immunocompromised individuals.
  2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Research focusing on the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, and prevention of COPD, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
  3. Asthma: Investigations into the mechanisms underlying asthma development, triggers, exacerbations, novel therapeutic approaches, and strategies for asthma management and control.
  4. Interstitial Lung Diseases: Studies examining the various forms of interstitial lung diseases, such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, and connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease, with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, and prognostication.
  5. Pulmonary Hypertension: Research exploring the pathophysiology, diagnosis, classification, and management of pulmonary hypertension, including both pulmonary arterial hypertension and secondary forms of pulmonary hypertension.
  6. Sleep-Disordered Breathing: Investigations into sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, and hypoventilation syndromes, as well as the impact of these disorders on cardiovascular and metabolic health.
  7. Lung Cancer: Studies focusing on the epidemiology, risk factors, early detection, diagnosis, staging, treatment modalities, and outcomes of lung cancer, including non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer.
  8. Critical Care Medicine: Research related to the critical care management of patients with acute respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), ventilator-associated lung injury, and other life-threatening pulmonary conditions.

IJPD welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals worldwide and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration to address the complex challenges in pulmonary medicine.
