Aim & Scope

The aim of the International Journal of Stem Cells and Medicine is to publish high-quality research articles, reviews, and original papers that contribute to the advancement of stem cell biology and its clinical applications in medicine. The journal welcomes submissions encompassing various aspects of stem cell research, including but not limited to:

  1. Basic Stem Cell Biology: Investigations into the fundamental properties, characteristics, and behavior of different types of stem cells, including embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, adult stem cells, and tissue-specific stem cells.
  2. Stem Cell Characterization and Engineering: Studies focused on the molecular, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms underlying stem cell self-renewal, differentiation, and plasticity. Research on techniques for stem cell isolation, characterization, and manipulation, as well as the development of novel stem cell-based therapies.
  3. Regenerative Medicine: Clinical and translational research aimed at harnessing the regenerative potential of stem cells for tissue repair, regeneration, and organ transplantation. Investigations into stem cell-based approaches for treating degenerative diseases, injuries, and disorders affecting various organ systems.
  4. Stem Cell Therapy and Clinical Trials: Clinical studies evaluating the safety, efficacy, and therapeutic potential of stem cell-based interventions in human patients. Reports on ongoing or completed clinical trials, outcomes assessment, patient outcomes, and ethical considerations related to stem cell therapy.
  5. Stem Cell Applications in Disease Modeling and Drug Discovery: Utilization of stem cells for disease modeling, drug screening, and understanding the pathophysiology of human diseases. Research on patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their application in disease modeling and personalized medicine.
  6. Bioethics and Regulatory Issues: Discussions on ethical considerations, regulatory frameworks, and policy implications surrounding stem cell research and its clinical applications. Exploration of societal, legal, and ethical challenges associated with stem cell-based therapies and technologies.

IJSCM aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among researchers from diverse fields, including cell biology, genetics, tissue engineering, immunology, transplantation medicine, bioinformatics, and clinical specialties. By providing a comprehensive platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research and innovations in stem cell science and medicine, the journal strives to accelerate the translation of basic discoveries into clinical practice, ultimately improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of regenerative medicine.
